Pinback sign to Temporary Residence–New album in 2010

April 7, 2009 - 1:58 am

As CityBeat previously reported, the demise of Chicago-based Touch and Go Records left bands Pinback, Three Mile Pilot and The Black Heart Procession without a label. Pinback is the first to find a new home on New York-based Temporary Residence Limited, whose roster includes names like Explosions in the Sky, Mono and Pinback member Rob Crow. According to a press release issued by the label fans should expect a new album from the band in 2010.

From the Temporary Residence release:

“PINBACK JOINS THE TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FAMILY!!! There’s no way to say this without sounding like a kid who just broke the sound barrier on a wooden roller coaster, but words fail us when trying to describe our sheer elation at signing some of our dearest friends and one of our all-time favorite bands, Pinback. It is with genuine modesty and humble respect for the legacy that Touch and Go Records has left us that we are honored to collaborate with this amazing band from this point forward. Look for a new album in 2010! Sometimes life just hits a homerun.”

Now, if someone would just buck up and release that Three Mile Pilot record. I wanna hear it this year, dammit!
