San Diego Shows–Sunday, June 7

PLAN A: Holy Fuck, Crocodiles @ Casbah–Unlike, say, Bryan Adams and Celine Dion, Holy Fuck will unfortunately never be asked to be Canadian ambassadors. And Crocodiles return after a national tour behind their fantastic debut album and being knighted as the ostensive leaders of the “seedy” San Diego scene by Rolling Stone. PLAN B: Street of Little Girls, Bobby Fantasy, Ded Pigeons @ Ruby Room–The music they have posted on their Myspace doesn’t do Street of Little Girls’ live show  justice. Think Arcade Fire’s more bombastic material mixed with some of the folkiness of Margot and the Nuclear So&So’s and a dose of the piano-based gypsy flavor of The Dresden Dolls and you’re getting close. PLAN C: Addiquit, Telepathic Liberation Army @ Soda Bar–Not exactly hip-hop, not exactly electro, but Addiquit’s grimey tracks has me wondering if one of her tracks isn’t bound to end up on a Diplo mixtape sometime soon. You can download her Scarecrow N Criminal EP for free on her MySpace site

Quick Picks (in order of Everyday-is-like-Sundayishness):

FM949 Independence Jam feat. The Black Keys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dirty Sweet, Scarlet Symphony, Metric, The Creepy Creeps, Dead Confederate, Apes of Wrath @ Oceanside Pier

Fiesta del Sol feat. Donovan Frankenreiter, The Drowning Men, The Devastators, The Mar-Dels, and more @ Solana Beach

“Too Many Creeps” feat. DJ Mario Orduno and friends @ Whistle Stop

Geezer, Rio Peligroso @ Surf N Saddle

The Western Set, Conrad Ford, DJ Gonzobilly @ Beauty Bar
