The voice behind Cleveland Jr. on The Cleveland Show
Richardson was in town for Comic-Con weekend and he sat down with CityBeat to answer a few questions about the show, which kicks off its second season in September.
The first question I had for Richardson was this: Why the hell did creator Seth MacFarlane decide to do a spin-off show based on a character who played such a minor role in Family Guy? Why not the notorious, quotable pervert, Quagmire?
“To quote Seth,” said Richardson, “we really couldn’t do a show about a rapist.”
The Cleveland Show, explained Richardson, was a good choice because good-old Cleveland is a kind-hearted, soft-spoken man who also happens to have a hilarious family—Cleveland Jr. being the funniest piece of that familial pie.
