“Sweet Child o’ Mine”

August 17, 2010 - 12:18 pm

Last Friday, I briefly interviewed Adam Scott, an actor whose work I tend to enjoy, about his new film, Piranha 3-D, which opens on Friday. I’m usually not one for gore porn, and it’s not being screened for critics, but I have to confess that the trailer has me intrigued, and Scott’s involvement makes me want to see it even more.

The interview will appear in Wednesday’s issue, but just to give you something to do on a Tuesday, I’d like to present the scene Scott is best known for. Yes, he’s the dick-brother in Step Brothers, the one who forces his family to harmonize Guns n’ Roses’ “Sweet Child o’ Mine” while they’re driving in their SUV. I’m not the only one who thinks it’s the movie’s funniest sequences. As you can see, plenty of people took their admiration to a whole new level. Prepare to pleasantly waste the next 15 minutes of your life.

Here’s the original.

These guys took this totally seriously. And they don’t even have a car. Which probably explains why they’re stuck in the dorm watching Step Brothers all the time.

These guys have a car. But they’re in junior high, which sucks. They couldn’t even scare up the right number of people. Or any girls at all.

Like the character he’s trying to emulate, this guy seems to take it all a little too seriously.

Do you think the really bored-looking girl knows there’s a video of her showing all that cleavage on the Internets?

Why is that girl smelling her own finger?

Okay, explain this. The girl who is playing the Adam Scott character? Why the tie? Why the mustache?

Apparently, Daddy took the T-bird away.

File under: Future American Idol hopefuls.

This is maybe the weirdest. It seems like the amount of editing that went into it should belie the fact that they’re sitting in a glorified golf cart.

Such passion. But why bother with karaoke?

She’s the babysitter, right?
